Required Education or Formal Training: College degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.
Required Years Experience: minimum two years in commercial sales position within security, information technology or other technology business. Successful candidates must show proven ability to achieve, maintain and exceed sales quotas.
Required Licenses or Certifications: Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Job Description: SSC Commercial Sales Consultants develop sales relationships within their assigned territories, closing new sales and providing the continuing services and attention that retain existing customers. Consultants are responsible for continuing contact that promotes upgrades to the security plans of existing customers, including but not limited to new services. They also follow up after installation with all customers to ensure full satisfaction with SSC products and services.
Main Responsibilities: Following all current SSC methods and maintaining an expert knowledge of all our products and services, Commercial Sales Consultants grow market share, selling to new commercial prospects throughout their territories.
They are expected to maintain or surpass assigned quotas.
They visit, inspect and assess client premises in order to design custom systems tailored to the client’s individual needs and wishes.
They renew existing customer agreements while constantly seeking opportunities to sell additional products and services. In their territories, they seek out new Commercial opportunities.
Responding to constant industry change, Commercial Sales Consultants must remain current on all aspects of the SSC product and service line, especially relating to customers’ specific needs and desires.
Consultants must master and constantly follow all internal and external paperwork and recordkeeping, as per standard SSC guidelines and procedures.
As part of their sales responsibilities, consultants develop methods to produce leads. They respond to those leads promptly and correctly, and follow up afterward. At all times they must meet the needs of existing customers in order to maintain the existing sales base within their territories. They establish call plans and follow-up methods, paying constant attention to proper techniques for time and territory management.
Following every installation or service call, consultants must follow up to make certain that all commitments are met and the customer is fully satisfied with every aspect of the work.
Required Skills and/or Knowledge: A successful SSC Commercial Sales Consultant must have a self-directed drive for achievement, resulting in sales records that surpass basic expectations.
Top customer service skills and commitment are necessary, along with excellent, confident abilities in presentation, whether oral or written.
Consultants need first-class technical skills and knowledge, and must be willing to invest the time needed to maintain those skills.
They must be problem solvers.
They must manage time well and maintain good relationships with other company personnel.
They must master and constantly provide all internal and external paperwork and recordkeeping, as per standard SSC guidelines and procedures.
They must have strong computer skills, and must maintain those skills at a high level.
